As Scottish Childrenās Health Week (SCHW) draws to a close today, weāre reflecting on a week filled with creativity, connection, and care. From 1ā7 September, children, families, schools, and communities across Scotland have come together to celebrate the health rights of children and young people under the theme #MyHealthMyRights and #BeMoreBear.
This week has been a powerful reminder that every child has the right to the best possible healthāand that together, we can help make that right a reality.
At the heart of this purpose are ourĀ wonderful funders, supporters, and volunteers, whose generosity fuels everything we do. Their belief in our work allows us to reach children and families with resources, programmes, and advocacy that truly make a difference. Today, onĀ Sunday 7 September, we shine a spotlight on these champions and invite you to join them by fundraising for Childrenās Health Scotland.
š Why Fundraising Matters
Every penny raised helps us deliver vital support to children and young people living with health conditions. Whether itās a £1 donationĀ that contributes to creative resources or a £50 giftĀ that provides a Home Pack for a child starting our Self-Management Skills Programme, your support creates real impact.
Hereās what your fundraising can help us achieve:
- £25 provides a vulnerable family with a Play and Information Pack, filled with activities and reassurance.
- £50 delivers a Home Pack to a child, supporting their emotional wellbeing and helping them feel connected and strong.
These packs are more than just materialsātheyāre lifelines of hope, empowerment, and care.
š» Inspired by #BeHelpful
Sundayās theme isĀ #BeHelpful, and what better way to embody that than by fundraising? The SCHW Activity Book offers brilliant ideas to get started:
- Bake Sale: Whip up some sweet treats and host a bake sale with friends or classmates.
- Sports Day: Organise a fun-filled day of races, obstacle courses, or a sponsored walk.
- Dress Like a Superhero: Celebrate bravery and raise funds by dressing up as everyday heroesānurses, firefighters, or even your own family members.
- Dance-a-thon: Put on your favourite tunes and dance for donations. Happiness and health go hand in hand!
These activities are not only funātheyāre meaningful. They bring communities together, spark joy, and raise awareness of childrenās health rights.
š A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Funders and Partners
We couldnāt do this without our incredible funders. Their support through grants from ALLIANCE, THE ROBERTSON TRUST, CORDIS CHARITABLE TRUST, SPIFOX, HUGH FRASER FOUNDATION, POSTCODE LOTTERY, DR GUTHRIE, CHILDREN’S AID SCOTLAND, CASH FOR KIDS, SOUTER CHARITABLE TRUST, THE NATIONAL LOTTERYĀ and the CYPFEIF and ALEC Fund from the Scottish Government, enables us to continue our work with confidence and compassion.
We also thank our seven amazing partners within the 2025 ACTIVITY BOOK for their creativity, generosity, and commitment to childrenās health and wellbeing:
- Girlguiding Scotland
- YouthLink Scotland
- Relax Kids
- Glasgow Science Centre
- Children and Young Peopleās Commissioner Scotland
- Edinburgh Zoo
- Spider Arts
Their contributions help us create engaging resources like the SCHW Activity Book, which empowers children to explore their rights through play, reflection, and fun.
š¬ Real Voices, Real Impact
OurĀ My Health, My Rights Charter, created by children and young people themselves, is a testament to the power of listening. It reflects their voices, priorities, and dreams for a healthier Scotland. Fundraising helps us amplify these voices and ensure their rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled. When you fundraise, youāre not just raising moneyāyouāre raising awareness. Youāre helping children understand their rights, feel heard, and thrive.
