We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the amazing fundraising efforts of Bishopbriggs Academy, who have raised a phenomenal £13,000 for Children’s Health Scotland! As their chosen charity of the year, the school community has gone above and beyond to support our work, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Throughout the year, pupils and staff have taken part in a fantastic range of fundraising activities, showing creativity, dedication, and a whole lot of fun. From Odd Socks Day to Teacher vs Pupils Football Games, Dress Down Days, PJ Days, Games, Bake Sales, and more, every event has helped to make a huge difference.
One of the biggest highlights was the Kiltwalk, where an incredible 154 pupils and staff took part, stepping up to raise vital funds for our work. Their commitment and enthusiasm were truly inspiring!
Mia, one of the school captains, reflected on the impact of the year’s fundraising at the Schools Award Ceremony, saying:
This year has taught me a lot, how not to give up, enjoy the moments and to celebrate successes. I’ve really enjoyed fundraising this year and making such a difference to the lives of children and young people across Scotland. The charity has been so involved and coming out and doing assemblies really got the pupils fired up and ready to fundraise. We are very proud of the difference we’ve made.
Helen Forrest, Chief Executive of Children’s Health Scotland, expressed her gratitude to the school community, stating:
We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity and dedication shown by Bishopbriggs Academy. £13,000 is a truly life-changing amount for a small charity like ours, enabling us to continue our vital work advocating for the health rights of children and young people across Scotland. The enthusiasm and commitment of pupils and staff have been incredible, and we are deeply grateful for their support. Every fundraising event, every step taken in the Kiltwalk, and every contribution made will directly impact the lives of children and young people who need our help the most.
As a small charity, £13,000 makes a huge impact, helping us continue our work to support and empower children and young people in Scotland with health conditions. Thanks to Bishopbriggs Academy, we can reach more families and ensure that young people have access to the resources, advocacy, and care they deserve.
