Our latest Heart-Felt HUB session was all about creativity, connection, and taking a moment to slow down together.
Commenting on the session, our Coordinator Eilidh Findlay said:
Our Heart-Felt HUB session was such a lovely chance for young people to try something new, express themselves, and really take pride in what they made. It was amazing watching their confidence grow, stitch by stitch. We started things off with a little scavenger hunt to get everyone moving and thinking. They had to find something red, something they love, and something they’d been given as a gift — and we had everything from lego and water bottles to actual pets being brought along! It was such a fun, light-hearted way to kick things off, and hearing everyone share their finds and wee stories set a really relaxed, friendly tone for the whole evening.
Calm Crafting Time
After the scavenger hunt, the HUB moved into our main activity, making stuffed felt hearts. The session had a really calm vibe, with everyone focusing on their sewing and taking their time. As the young people crafted, conversations naturally started about other creative hobbies like knitting, crochet, and cross stitch, which was lovely to hear. It was great to see young people connecting over shared interests and skills. By the end, everyone had created their own unique felt heart, each one showing off their personality and creativity. Lots of the young people were trying something new, and it was amazing to see the patience and determination everyone showed. There was a real sense of pride as hearts were finished and shown to the group.
Ending with Relaxation
To finish, we took some time to slow things down with a gentle relaxation activity. Everyone traced heart shapes on their hands while taking slow, deep breaths in time with the shape. It was a calm and grounding way to end the session, giving everyone a moment to pause and reflect before logging off.
A Session to Feel Proud Of
From the scavenger hunt to the final relaxation, the session created a supportive space where young people could be creative, chat, and just enjoy the moment. Everyone tried something new and left feeling proud of what they’d made. Overall, we all loved spending this time together and can’t wait for the next session!
