As we mark Volunteers’ Week, we want to take a moment to recognise and say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible individuals who give their time, skills and energy to support Children’s Health Scotland.
Our trustees play a vital role in helping us achieve our vision—that every child in Scotland has the right to the best possible health. Their leadership, insight and commitment ensure we continue to grow, develop and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and families across Scotland.
Being a trustee is a significant responsibility. It means providing strategic direction, ensuring strong governance, and supporting the organisation to deliver impactful services that truly reflect the needs and rights of the children and families we work alongside. Our trustees bring a wealth of experience, passion and dedication to this role, and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support.
We are proud to recognise our Board of Trustees:
- Maggie Simpson (Chair)
- Derek Quirk (Treasurer)
- Patricia Jackson
- Albert Yeung
- Layla Robinson
- Julia Whitaker
- Jenny Price
- Laura Brown
- Catherine McCusker
- Shauna Mullin
Each of our trustees brings something unique—whether that is experience in healthcare, governance, finance, policy, or lived and professional insight into the challenges facing children and families today. Together, they provide the guidance, support and encouragement that helps us to continue delivering high-quality, rights-based services.
Their contribution extends far beyond meetings and reports. Trustees help shape our direction, challenge and support our thinking, and ensure that the voices of children and young people remain at the heart of everything we do.
As a charity that works closely with children, young people and families, we know that strong, values-driven leadership matters. Our trustees model the very values that underpin our work—being informed, skilled, collaborative and committed to making a difference.
During Volunteers’ Week, we celebrate all volunteers who give their time to support others—but today, we are especially proud to shine a spotlight on our trustees.
Thank you for your commitment, your guidance, and your belief in our work. We simply couldn’t do this without you.
