All children and young people have healthcare rights, including the right to the best possible health, to receive appropriate healthcare, and to be informed, involved and supported throughout their healthcare journey. These rights are reflected in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and the EACH Charter. This award recognises an individual, team or organisation that has gone above and beyond to promote, protect or advance the healthcare rights of children and young people.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a nominee or team that has made a significant contribution to advancing the healthcare rights of children and young people. This may have been achieved in healthcare, education or the community through advocacy, participation, service improvement, campaigning or child-centred practice.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a nominee or team who has:
- Promoted, protected or advanced the healthcare rights of children and young people.
- Ensured the voices, views and experiences of children and young people are listened to and acted upon.
- Improved services, policies, practices or environments to create better experiences and outcomes for children and young people.
- Demonstrated a commitment to participation, inclusion, dignity and respect in their work with children and families.
