The BUBBLETASTIC Workshop invites children and young people, alongside parents, carers, and professionals, to explore the joyful science of bubbles and their powerful connection to health and wellbeing. Through playful, hands‑on experimentation, participants discover how bubbles are formed, why they behave the way they do, and how curiosity, movement, and sensory play can support our physical and emotional wellbeing.
Led by Glasgow Science Centre’s skilled community learning team, the workshop uses bubbles as an accessible and engaging way to explore scientific concepts such as air, surface tension, and forces—while also encouraging calm, focus, connection, and wonder. Participants are supported to reflect on how playful science activities can help regulate emotions, reduce stress, and promote positive wellbeing for children and young people, particularly those living with health conditions.
For children and young people, the session provides a fun, low‑pressure environment to explore learning through play, supporting confidence, curiosity, and participation. For parents, carers, and professionals, the workshop offers insight into how sensory‑rich, creative science experiences can help children express themselves, manage emotions, and engage meaningfully in conversations about wellbeing.
The workshop reflects Article 24 of the UNCRC—every child’s right to the highest attainable standard of health—and Article 31, the child’s right to play, by promoting joyful learning, wellbeing, access to information, and meaningful participation through inclusive, play‑based science experiences.
