Our latest SMS HUB session took a mysterious turn as young people joined us online to step inside Mrs Peacock’s mansion for an evening of clues, characters, and clever thinking.
The session, “Mrs Peacock’s Feathers”, brought a classic Cluedo style mystery to life, giving young people the chance to work together, ask questions, and solve a puzzling case, all while building confidence and connection in a fun and supportive space.
A Mansion Full of Mystery
From the moment the session began, something mysterious was in the air…
A group of rather unusual guests had gathered in the mansion. The Reverend was looking a little green, the Colonel didn’t seem too fond of mustard, and Mrs White was looking particularly pale. With such a suspicious cast of characters, it wasn’t long before the mystery deepened…someone had turned up dead!
Young people were immediately drawn into the story, sharing their theories and observations as they began to piece together what might have happened.
Following the Clues
Throughout the session, participants worked together to uncover clues, ask questions, and test their detective skills. The interactive nature of the activity encouraged everyone to get involved, whether by sharing ideas out loud or contributing through the chat.
It was fantastic to see young people building on each other’s ideas and working as a team to solve the mystery.
The session created a space where everyone could take part in their own way, helping to build confidence and communication skills.
A Fun Way to Build Skills
While the session was full of fun and suspense, it also supported the development of important self-management skills. Activities like this help young people practise:
- Decision making
- Communication
- Confidence in sharing ideas
- Working together with others
- All within a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
A Session to Remember
“Mrs Peacock’s Feathers” from Can You Catch the Killer was a brilliant example of how creative, themed sessions can bring young people together, spark imagination, and encourage connection.
From suspicious characters to surprising clues, the session kept everyone guessing and showed just how powerful teamwork can be when solving a mystery.
We loved seeing everyone get into detective mode and can’t wait for the next SMS HUB adventure, thank you to the wonderful team at Can You Catch the Killer for a session we won’t soon forget!
