Your Challenge. Their Moment. Create #MomentsThatMatter. What if your next challenge could change a child’s life?
- A 5K run.
- A sponsored walk.
- A bake sale at work.
- A coffee morning with friends.
- A cycle, a swim, a climb, a quiz night, or even something completely unique.
Whatever challenge you choose, you have the power to create a moment that matters for a child or young person living with a health condition.
At Children’s Health Scotland, we see every day how powerful these moments can be.
- The moment a child walks into one of our programmes feeling nervous and unsure, then leaves having made a new friend.
- The moment a young person realises they are not alone.
- The moment a child discovers the confidence to speak up about their health and tell others what matters to them.
- The moment a family finds understanding, connection and hope when they need it most.
- These are the moments that matter.
And with your support, we can create many more.
A message from Helen Forrest, Chief Executive of Children’s Health Scotland:
Some of the most powerful moments we witness are often the simplest. A child finding the courage to join a group for the first time. A young person discovering that their voice matters. A parent watching their child smile because they’ve finally met someone who understands. These moments can have a lasting impact on a child’s life. By taking on a fundraising challenge, you’re helping us create more of these moments for children and young people with health conditions across Scotland. You’re not just raising money. You’re creating confidence, connection, friendship and hope. You’re creating #MomentsThatMatter.
Become a Health Rights Defender
Our Health Rights Defenders are children and young people who use their voices to stand up for health rights, influence change and help create a better future for others.
Now we’re inviting you to join them. By taking on a fundraising challenge, you can become a Health Rights Defender too. You don’t need to run a marathon or climb a mountain, unless you want to. Every challenge matters because every pound raised helps us support children and young people with health conditions across Scotland. Whether you’re baking, walking, running, cycling, swimming or creating your own challenge, you’re helping create opportunities for children and families to connect, learn, have fun, build confidence and discover that they are not alone.
Set Yourself a Goal
- Choose something that inspires you.
- Challenge yourself to run your first 5K.
- Climb a hill you’ve always wanted to conquer.
- Organise a bake sale in your school, workplace or community.
- Host a quiz night.
- Take on a sponsored silence.
- Swim a set distance.
- Cycle a new route.
- Or create a challenge that’s entirely your own.
Then set up a fundraising page, share your story and invite others to support your journey.
Because every step you take helps create a moment that matters for someone else.
Why #MomentsThatMatter?
Because fundraising isn’t just about raising money.
- It’s about creating a moment of confidence for a young person who has never met another child with the same condition.
- It’s about creating a moment of belonging for someone who often feels left out.
- It’s about creating a moment of joy, friendship and laughter.
- It’s about helping children and young people understand their rights, find their voice and believe in themselves.
- Your challenge could help create a friendship that lasts a lifetime.
- Your bake sale could help a child discover they are not alone.
- Your sponsored walk could help a young person find the confidence to speak up.
Your challenge could create a moment a child remembers forever.
