Last week we were so pleased to announce that environmental advocate and children’s television presenter Rory Crawford is now a Children’s Health Scotland Ambassador! To celebrate this Halloween weekend, Rory read a wonderful rendition of ‘Trixie the Witch’s Cat’ by Nick Butterworth for all of our followers on social media.
This children’s book is a fabulous story about a black witch’s cat who has one white paw. Trixie hates being different from all the other black cats and does everything she can to hide her paw, only to realise that is her differences that make her who she is, and ultimately what makes her special. This is an incredibly important message for all children (and grown ups!), who often struggle to fit in with their peers.
Halloween is a great time of year when we celebrate the weird and the wonderful, so grab your finest witch’s hat and get cosy for story time with Rory!
