Welcome to Day 8 of Bear’s Advent Calendar! Are you ready to #ShareWithBear?
For Day 8, Bear wanted to shout about the My Health, My Rights Conference! On Friday 9th September 2022, we celebrated our first national conference since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic #MyHealthMyRights. The conference reflected on research, best practice and the rights of children and young people with regards to their health and wellbeing. The event was hosted by Catriona Shearer, with presentations from Dr Suzanne Zeedyk and Dr William Bird. It also involved a Panel Debate, 30 exhibitors, the presentation of the Scottish Children’s Health Awards and 6 workshops for our 200 delegates to attend!
We also used this opportunity to unveil our newly published book, ‘Millie meets the dentist‘, which you can purchase here.
Bear has this to say: “It was fantastic to meet people that we have worked closely with over the last few years. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone in the sector together to celebrate, explore new ways of working together, and continue our learning. We were also supported on the day by our brilliant SMS volunteers!”
One delegate commented “There is always hope and change where there is the committed and strong enough will for it to happen” with another saying “We are all on the journey towards getting it right together”.
Let us know on Facebook and Twitter why you care about children and young people’s health and rights! #ShareWithBear
Come back tomorrow for Day 9 of our advent calendar to see what else Bear and Children’s Health Scotland got up to in 2022!
