Are you ready to join in the fun and embrace #feelinghopeful for Children’s Health Scotland’s biggest week of the year: Scottish Children’s Health Week (SCHW)? The week has been created to focus on the health and wellbeing of children and young people and their right to the best possible health and it will take place from 6 – 12 September. It has already got us all at Children’s Health Scotland #feelinghopeful.
An Activity Book has been published and now available online for SCHW which is packed full of activities for each day of the week, including some extra colouring-in fun and guidance on children’s rights, health, and wellbeing. We would like to thank everyone at Teapot Trust, SeeMe, RelaxKids, RSPB, Starcatchers, Mental Health Foundation and The LUNA Project for helping us to create the week which is set for success. Each of the partner charities have provided us with an activity for our book, which you can download here.
Commenting on SCHW 2021, Helen Forrest, Chief Executive of Children’s Health Scotland said: “This is our second Scottish Children’s Health Week, and it promises to be even more fun-filled and exciting than the first one. I would like to say a huge thank you to all our partners who have helped us to create an Activity Book which is packed full of ideas to support the health and wellbeing of children and young people. The services we provide for children and young people have some great events and activities lined up and we hope as many people as possible will take part in the week and join the fun. The hashtag ‘feelinghopeful’ has been created for the week to encourage everyone to talk about health, feelings and emotions and we hope children and young people throughout Scotland and those involved with their health and wellbeing will take part in the week. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with everything that is planned for the week, and we would love it if you can share in the fun and post with us using #feelinghopeful.”
During SCHW we will be announcing the seven winners of our Scottish Children’s Health Awards on each day of the week. We received so many amazing nominations earlier this year, so it is very exciting and a great privilege to finally announce the winners during the week.
Don’t forget that Scottish Children’s Health Week starts on 6 September 2021. To get involved follow us on Facebook @ChildrensHealthScotland and Twitter @ChildHealthScot and remember to download our SCHW21 Activity Book.
