The newest edition of the CHS magazine is now available to view online. The magazine is packed full of great stories, such as Volunteers’ Week and Ewan and Lucy’s involvement with our charity.
Ewan became a peer mentor for SMS:CONNECT after his positive experience on the programme, and Lucy had a life changing experience on the SMS:CONNECT programme and now wants to share her story with others.
Dr Anne McFadyen, Infant Mental Health Lead of Perinatal Mental Health Network Scotland has written a guest feature for us on Wellbeing for Wee Ones. The feature goes in-depth to discuss what infant mental health is and why we should care about it.
Anne Wilson, our Head of Development, lifts the lid on understanding trauma and helping recovery. This feature also contains useful information for carers of children with trauma and information on how you can attend a workshop explore many ways to help with trauma recovery.
During COVID-19 our campaign work, training and workshops have continued. Like many organisations, we responded quickly to the pandemic, staff upskilled their IT capabilities and very swiftly we were able to offer virtual training sessions via Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams on healthcare rights for children and young people. The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow has also been coping with educating children during COVID-19 using technology. Ann MacLennan, Assistant Coordinator with the Hospital Education Service also writes a guest feature giving a us a little insight into how their work has adapted during the pandemic.
