We are delighted to announce that SMS:CONNECT – our online group Programme for children and young people with long-term health conditions – has received a National Lottery award of £10,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Kate Still, Chair of The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland, said:
In these uncertain times our priority is to ensure that National Lottery money continues to flow to charities, voluntary sector organisations and grassroot groups. I would like to congratulate Children’s Health Scotland on their award, theirs is an important project and will support people now and in the future when they can physically come back together to make great things happen in their community.
Laura Smith, Head of Children’s Health and Wellbeing Services at Children’s Health Scotland said:
We are very grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund and all of the National Lottery players. This award will help us to provide much needed support to children and young people during these challenging times. We are really proud of SMS:CONNECT. It was developed in response to COVID-19 and has proven to be a lifeline for children and young people experiencing significant challenges with their health and wellbeing. We have received unprecedented levels of referrals and are incredibly grateful for this funding so that we can continue to offer this service across Scotland.
Children’s Health Scotland would like to say a HUGE thank you to all at The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland and to all of the National Lottery players!
