IMPORTANT INFORMATION
To ensure a fair and manageable judging process, we ask that only one nomination is submitted per child, young person, individual or team in each award category. If you would like to support a nomination, please include any testimonials, endorsements or supporting comments within the same nomination form. Multiple nominations for the same person or team will be combined and assessed as a single nomination by the judging panel. Due to the high number of nominations received each year, we are unfortunately unable to notify all nominees of the outcome. Only award winners will be contacted directly. Winners will be announced as part of the Scottish Children’s Health Awards 2027.
AWARD 1 | CHILDREN’S CHOICE AWARD
Relationships shape the way we see the world and influence our health, wellbeing and development. If you are a child or young person who has received treatment in hospital, at home or in the community, this is your opportunity to say “thank you” to someone who has made a real difference in your life. We are looking for a special person whose care, kindness, support or encouragement has had a positive impact on a child or young person during their healthcare journey and whose contribution truly stood out.

AWARD 2 | HEALTH AND WELLBEING AWARD
Children and young people deserve the best possible health and wellbeing. This award recognises an individual, team or organisation that has made a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of a child or young person through care, support, treatment, advocacy or innovation. We are looking for nominees who have gone above and beyond to improve outcomes, provide support or create opportunities that help children and young people thrive at home, in school, in hospital or within their community.

AWARD 3 | HEALTHCARE RIGHTS AWARD
All children and young people have healthcare rights, including the right to the best possible health, to receive appropriate healthcare, and to be informed, involved and supported throughout their healthcare journey. These rights are reflected in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and the EACH Charter. This award recognises an individual, team or organisation that has gone above and beyond to promote, protect or advance the healthcare rights of children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are respected.

AWARD 4 | HEALTH-RELATED PLAY AWARD
Health-related play is much more than fun and games. It helps children and young people understand their healthcare experiences, express their feelings, develop coping skills and reduce anxiety during treatment and recovery. This award recognises an individual, team or organisation that has made a significant difference to the life of a child or young person through health-related play. We are looking for nominees who have used creativity, compassion and play to support children and young people at home, in hospital or within their community, helping them feel more confident, informed and supported throughout their healthcare journey.

AWARD 5 | IMPROVING LIFE EXPERIENCES AWARD
Every child and young person deserves positive experiences that help them grow in confidence, build resilience and reach their full potential. This award recognises an individual, team or organisation that has made a significant difference to the life experiences of a child or young person facing health, wellbeing or life challenges. We are looking for nominees who have gone above and beyond to help children and young people develop confidence, resilience, self-management skills or independence, enabling them to overcome challenges, improve their wellbeing and look positively towards the future.

AWARD 6 | YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD
Young people achieve incredible things every day, often overcoming challenges and inspiring those around them along the way. This award recognises a child or young person who has achieved something special through determination, leadership, creativity, advocacy, volunteering, fundraising or by making a positive difference to others. We are looking for young people who have shown commitment, perseverance and a desire to make a difference in their school, community or beyond, demonstrating the positive impact that one person can have on the lives of others.

AWARD 7 | CHILDREN’S BRAVERY AWARD
Bravery is one of Children’s Health Scotland’s core values. This award recognises a child or young person who has shown remarkable bravery when facing challenges relating to their health, wellbeing, disability, care experience or life circumstances. We are looking for children and young people who have demonstrated courage, determination and strength, whether through speaking up, overcoming fears, trying something new, supporting others or facing difficult situations with a positive attitude. Their actions will have inspired those around them and shown that bravery can take many forms.

AWARD 8 | HEALTH RIGHTS DEFENDER AWARD
Every child and young person has the right to be heard, informed and involved in decisions about their health and wellbeing. This award recognises a child, young person, professional, volunteer, team or organisation that has gone above and beyond to promote, protect or advance the rights of children and young people. We are looking for nominees who have demonstrated leadership in raising awareness of children’s rights, empowering children and young people to have their voices heard, and helping to create positive change within healthcare, education or their local community.
